A few notes on the new release. Of the new features listed on the
release notes linked below, I think there are a few that are
significant, although have not yet been implemented:
* Configurable boolean search operator
We've had comments about this before. The default boolean "or" is not
how any other library search tools work. We can now easily configure
this to use "and" as the default instead.
* Browse by subject feature
This is very useful, and has been turned on on Scholars' Bank.
* Content verification through periodic checksum checking
I'll have to look into how this one works.
We skipped over release 1.3.2, going directly from 1.3.1 to 1.4. The
only significant functionality added in 1.3.2 was the ability to
Configure metadata fields shown on simple item display. There wasn't
a pressing need to work with that at the time, but I can see some uses
for it at this point.
Let Mary or I know if you have any questions or comments about the
upgrade or new design.
Thanks,
-Corey

I've updated the look of Scholars' Bank to more closely match the
Libraries' new Web Site.
I've also upgraded the underlying software to the most current version
of DSpace, version 1.4.
A list of new features available in version 1.4 can be found in the
release notes:

If you notice anything unusual, either with the design or functionality,
please report the problem to either Mary Grenci or myself.
