I don't think that in principle it would be against our interests to pursue
this, but I agree that it looks as if from a technical viewpoint it's not
worth our while.

I do think it's worth our while to take a look at the NCBI DTD, since it
seems to be a good example of a popular and modern XML based archiving
format.  

Note that Dissociation is a bit of an orphan.  It's a defunct journal, but
was superseded by Trauma & Dissociation, the Haworth journal that Jennifer
Freyd edits.  Looks to me as if the primary focus of PMC is relationships
with publishers of current journals, and the primary benefit is less "one
stop shopping" than it is LOCKSS.  I'd bet that it's more important to the
people in ISSD to be indexed in pubmed than it is to be available through
PMC, but that having the items in PMC seems like the best path to getting
the PM coverage.  JTD is already in Medline and Pubmed, but Dissociation
isn't.

I'll do a bit of homework discussing this with Jennifer to find out more.
