I think SB is definitely an appropriate place for archiving eportfolios.
I'm not sure whether it's right for Lori's particular project.  As I
understand it, Lori gives high weight to current access (to the web page in
all it's glory, including streaming media, server side scripts, etc.) and
ease of update by the author, neither of which is a strength of the dspace
software.  I don't think Lori has thought very much about SB's strengths
(archival storage, metadata, preservation, OAI harvesting, etc.).

I think we should get together first with Tom and then with Lori to discuss.

It may be that a mixed strategy will be appropriate, in which a different
platform is used for presentation of the eportfolio, and dspace is used to
archive old eportfolios, perhaps after the student graduates.
