lib-ir: Scholars' Bank updates
I have a number of developments with
Scholars' Bank to alert you to. If others
of you have things to share, please send
them to the list.
1) Today I set up two personal collection
pages for faculty under the Faculty Research
community, as we discussed back in
February. The community page is
at: https://scholarsbank.uoregon.edu/dspace/handle/1794/691
Suggestions for better wording on that page
would be appreciated.
2) On Bill H's page, I used a new feature
of the software that we hadn't used before:
mapping one item into multiple collections. 7
of the 8 items currently in Bill's personal
collection also appear in the Economics
Working Papers collection. This feature worked
very easily and well. I was pleased that Bill gave
his ok for this. I'm contacting other faculty directly
about this option. I think it's one they'll like.
If you have suggestions for individuals to contact,
let me know.
3) Several other new communities and collections
have been established in the archive since I last
notified you. I've lost track of which ones those are.
Take a look and give any feedback you have.
4) There are currently 566 items in Scholars' Bank.
An article is due to appear in next week's
Inside Oregon about the archive and the fact
that Inside Oregon is available within it.
5) Barbara, Eliz, and I had our article on the IR
accepted for publication in Reference Services Review
vol 33, no. 3. Barbara is going to be submitting the
article into Scholars' Bank (of course!).
6) I'm doing a presentation on our IR
efforts at this year's NASIG meeting in
Minneapolis. If you want to know more
about NASIG (North American Serials
Interest Group) and the program, visit their web
site at: http://www.nasig.org/
