lib-ir: Chronicle of Higher Education - Searching on Lexis Nexis

Yesterday we had some discussion about searching for the Chronicle of
Higher Education electronically. One easy way is Lexis Nexis.

Select Lexis Nexis as a database in the pull down menu for database index
by name.

Log in to Lexis Nexis with your ID and PIN (same as your id unless you have
changed it)

Click on the top right button for "Guided News Search" - this is the way to
really effectively use Lexis Nexis

The first box at the top of the screen is "Select a News Category", pull
down to "University News"

Select "Chronicle of Higher Education"

Lexis Nexis is very exacting so if you put two words together with just a
space, it searches them as phrase.

There are defaults set by Lexis Nexis, so if you don't change them, you
will be searching only headline and lead paragraph and only the previous
six month.

Let me know if you have questions. Barb
