lib-ir: IR & Sociology Connection
I have asked the Reference GTF, Brett Clark, to load his publications. I
sent him the step by step instructions. We talked about getting 2
of the publications loaded soon.
Brett is in the Sociology Department. Apparently Brett has 14
publications and has them almost all in PDF format and is very willing to
share them. Most have been published already. It is
interesting that Brett does not maintain a web site, but he is very
interested in making them easily available electronically. I wonder
if we will find quite a few people in a similar situation.
Sociology has some interesting faculty possibilities too:
John Foster, Brett's mentor, is probably open to the idea and readily
shares his material. He maintains some links to it on his web site,
but apparently has many more articles than he lists on his web site - I
will contact John
Val Burris has many links to his articles on his web site - 11 of the 24
are listed with full PDFs
Marion Sherman Goldman - no electronic articles on her web site, but very
interesting Oregon connection
(She is working with librarians in
Special Collections of the Knight Library to develop resources
about Oregon's many alternative groups)
Jiannbin Shiao - gives many public presentations, but they are not
provided electronically - he might be willing to make them available to
the IR
Richard York - new Ph.D. - joined the UO Faulty in 2002. Doesn't
have electronic documents on his web site, but might be open.
