lib-ir: a high end staffing plan
In response to a request from me for information. Rochester's
steady-state FTE plan appears to be 1 to 1.3 FTE, and so is comparable
to the MIT >2 FTE.

Subject: [Dspace-tech] DSpace staffing
At the University of Rochester, we have three staff members within the
library that have some portion of their time devoted to DSpace and
establishing an institutional repository. Our DSpace Administrator
position is a new, full-time position that was created within our
library systems department. We were fortunate to find someone with
skills as a systems administrator, as well as Java programming
experience. Recently, 1/3 of a bibliographer's time has been
reallocated to the DSpace project. She serves as the faculty liaison,
drumming-up interest in DSpace among the faculty and identifying
potential collections. Approximately 1/3 of my time over the last year
has been spent on DSpace, focusing primarily on the policy issues,
coordinating activities amongst our three campuses and overseeing our
endeavors to build a new user interface for the system.
Hope this is helpful!
