lib-ir: GWLA survey
A couple of notes on the GWLA survey Deb sent out:
1/ Alexander's first question (defining an IR) focused on archival, but
despite that several of the responses (including ours, not quoted)
emphasized the importance of access
2/ note the range of collection policies. Compare UW, with its focus on
working papers, with Arizona, with its focus on instructional materials.
3/ interest is very high, but few are actually doing a test
implementation yet. Like us, they're mostly still talking.
4/ there was only moderate enthusiasm expressed for a major GWLA role in
this area, except in the area of sharing information and best practices.
