RE: lib-ir: AAA terminal projects
I have talked with Tom about the PPPM Exit projects and he tells me that
only a few projects are coming in electronic form (CD-Rom), with most still
being produced in print. Of course these days, if they have a print copy,
they should have an electronic copy in at least a Word format. Given the
growing use of GIS and image anaylsis in planning projects, I believe PPPM
would welcome an electronic archive for their projects.
Tom also suggested using one of the PPPM affliated groups as a possible
pilot for the IR.
These are listed at:
http://utopia.uoregon.edu/dep/research.html
One group from the list which seems promising is the Community Planning
Workshop. They are producing some interesting project documents.

If there are no objections, I was going to go ahead and follow up on some
contacts with PPPM.

I don't remember being cc'd _recently_ on this, but here
are my thoughts:
I don't think these are the same as theses and dissertations
and they have never been treated that way before. If AAA
is too problematic for this to go forward right now, I would
recommend that we focus on the PPPM terminal projects.
This may also be too complicated for an email discussion.
