We are fast approaching 48,000 images in the AAI database and will be adding Additional Module Two (6,000 images) from the Archivision library soon. In the mean time, all the Archivision images that we have purchased are available through the Artstor interface. After you log in, the Archivision Base Module, and Additional Modules One and Two will appear in the left column of the Artstor homepage under “Institutional Collections.”

Thanks to the Archivision purchase, the Art and Architecture Images database now contains 40,500 images, 9,708 that were scanned in the VRC.

Thanks to the generosity of Scott Gilchrist (owner and UO alumnus) and the Art History department, the VRC was able to purchase 22,758 digital images of architecture, sculpture and painting from Archivision Inc. These images are now available through the Art and Architecture Images database.

Researchers at the Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities have virtually recreated Rome in the year 323 CE. Images, audio and video clips, papers and a bibliography are available on the website for viewing.

Artstor has expanded the availability of images for academic publishing (indicated by the IAP button below images in Artstor) to scholars whose institutions are not subscribed to Artstor. Read more about it in the News and Notes section.
