Well, the Bb World conference is over. The Eugene people who attended (Tim Boshart, Stephany Freeman, Don Harris, JQ Johnson, and Lynn Lary) are back, tired but no worse for wear.

It was a very full conference with lots of news and information for blackboard administrators, course developers, and planners.

One big piece of news from the opening plenary: the chairman of Blackboard announced that Blackboard Inc. had that very morning completed its planned purchase of its major competitor, WebCT. UO clearly backed a winner when we adopted Blackboard in 1998 -- they are now the company with 85% of the course management system business. We can expect to see both Blackboard Academic Suite and the WebCT products continue to be developed in parallel for at least a year. Longer term, who knows what the future holds?

I guess different instructors have different needs. I thought most of the articles in the Accessibility and Curriculum sections were aimed at instructors. For instance, I thought "The use of advanced organisers to aid learning in Blackboard Course sites" was particularly appropriate.

This site appears be useful only for administrators of Blackboard. I perused the site and didn't find anything for instructors. Did any other instructional faculty find anything useful?
