The original solution to this problem was created by Adam Brin at Bryn Mawr college. I have created a PHP version of his Perl file and also closed a
security hole that could allow for spam. This solution requires the
CURL extension for PHP though it could easily be modified to do without
it. It should run on PHP 4 or 5. You will also need Webpac Pro enabled in your III catalog.
Here are the steps necessary to install this modification:
- Open Adam's instruction page located here:
http://trilogy.brynmawr.edu/trico/sys/sms.html
- Follow his instructions with the following exceptions:
- Download and use our modified version of Adam's files. The only difference is that this package replaces the sms.js script with our modified version and replaces the sms.pl script with one called sms.php.
- Refer to the sms.php file that is included when told to refer to sms.pl.
- Personalize it by makeing modifications to the CSS and possibly the sms.js file so the popup box appears in your catalog where you want it. Alter the image files to fit your catalog look.
