The Bridal Veil Lumbering Company logged Larch Mountain, near Portland, Oregon, and milled timber in the company towns of Palmer and Bridal Veil from 1886-1936. A fire in the Bridal Veil Mill ended the company's operations and the town was largely abandoned. Most of the remaining structures wer demolished in 2001. The Bridal Veil post office continues to postmark mail.
This is an excellent summary of a small but prosperous wood products company, and provides detailed information and named portraits of the employees. Included are: L.C. Palmer, J.S. Bradley, J.M. Leiter, W.A. Campbell, O.A. Palmer, M.F. Dickson, W.G. Hicks, Eldridge Hill Thompson, James Brown, H.L. Power, Mack Trimble, Robert H. Barr, Alfred L. Woodward, Charles S. Dodge, Uclid Sicott, James A. Hennagen, Joseph B. Acteson, Mary H. Acteson, Maggie Alice Young, Chas. S. Palmer, William E. Ramsey, and Frederick Sievers. Issued as album. Identifying captions with numbers have been mounted on many of the photographs
