Scholarly Communications and Instructional Support (SCIS) provides a range of services for UO faculty. We support instructors through the Blackboard course information system and through technology consulting services. We also have a growing set of services addressing the needs of UO authors in their scholarly publishing.
SCIS is a successor to the Center for Educational Technologies, which from fall 2004 through spring 2008 provided a range of services for UO instructors who wanted to make more effective use of technology in their teaching. As of May 2008, one part of CET, the interactive media group, has been integrated with Media Services production, with the new merged department expected to be renamed "Center for Media and Educational Technologies."
