You should be aware that information on these topics is uneven. When looking, you should also consider if the information is likely to be centralized (done at a federal level for the entire country) or done locally (by state or province or…).
In general, you'll probably be looking for useful (and trustworthy) web pages and/or newspaper or journal articles on your topics.
Also, don't be afraid to ask the librarians at Government Documents. They know this stuff better than anyone else.

PAIS: Public Affairs Information Service provides references to journal articles, books and book chapters, conference proceedings, government documents, and statistical directories in the area of public affairs. Many planning-related journals are included. Coverage is from 1972, and new records are added monthly
TRIS (Transportation Research Information Service) provides access to over 450,000 bibliographic records covering transportation research published in books, journal articles, technical reports and the media.
An online news service, only accessible via the World Wide Web, that offers an extensive array of translated and English-language news and information. Particularly effective in its coverage of local media sources, WNC was developed to help US policy makers with local news in other countries.
Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals
The Avery Index indexes more than 2,000 periodicals published worldwide on archaeology, city planning, interior design and historic preservation, as well as architecture.
