The Electronic Reserves collection provides online access to selected documents on reserve for specific UO courses. These documents are on the web and are available through Blackboard for viewing and printing 24 hours a day. Electronic reserves may include journal articles, book chapters, class notes, past exams, and homework solutions. Access to these materials is limited to UO students enrolled in the course. Materials placed on E-Reserve must meet the University Libraries' Copyright Guidelines.
If your instructor is using the Libraries' E-Reserves services, you should login to Blackboard (blackboard.uoregon.edu) to find your readings. Look in the Course Documents section for link labelled "View electronic reserve readings".
After you login to Blackboard, you should find the password for most readings listed in the "Get library reserve readings" item. If you are off-campus, you may also be asked for your last name and ID number for some articles.
The Libraries' services come from many different computers, both local and outside the University; we know it's not ideal, and we're working on it.
That's not actually a question, but that's ok. First check the login help page linked from the login page to see if the specific problem you might be having is addressed there. The Information Services Help Desk (541-346-4412) is the best place to call for help with your Duck ID and password. Staff at the Knight Library's main Info Desk (541-346-1878) or Computer Help Desk (541-346-1807) may also be able to assist with login difficulties.
Registration information is updated in Blackboard about twice a day. If you didn't just add the class and you have verified your registration, it is possible that your instructor has not yet activated the coursesite; check with your instructor.
If there's no link in Course Documents, maybe the instructor has moved the link or hasn't yet activated it. If the e-reserves link connects to a page saying "There are no e-reserves for this course" it's possible that the readings have not been processed yet. In either case you may wish to check with your instructor. It's also possible that your readings are available for checkout instead of being online - check the Libraries' reserve listings for your class.
In most cases, all that is required is a relatively up-to-date web browser and a PDF viewer such as Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Start by asking at the closest Library service desk, or call the Knight Library Checkout Desk at 541-346-3065
