The Library and Learning Commons supports videoconferencing for the UO Portland community.
This page is for event sponsors, schedulers, technicians, and other UO staff who support videoconferencing of classes and events.
We encourage those supporting UO videoconferences to join the videoconf-tech mailing list. See the UO Mailing list page for more information on joining a list.
Requesting a Videoconference
Event sponsors:
To request that a class or non-class event be recorded or videoconferenced to a remote location, please complete the Event Request Form (below) and send it to your unit's scheduling staff.
Class requests: If you don't know who your departmental academic scheduler is, please contact your department.
Non-class event requests: If you don't know who your unit's scheduling staff is, please contact
University Scheduling and Event Services.
Departmental schedulers:
Department schedulers are the critical communication link in planning a successful videoconference event. Event sponsors rely on you to place room and technology reservations. (At UO-Portland, these reservations are placed with pdxinfo@uoregon.edu.) A completed Event Request Form (above), provided by the Event sponsor, should contain the information you'll need to provide when placing such a reservation.
You can tremendously aid the scheduling process by sharing this Event information with your counterpart at the remote site, insuring that reservations are placed for each end of the videoconference.
Presenting or Teaching With Videoconference
Instructors and presenters should review the event preparation and teaching tips documents below. These documents will also be supplied to you by departmental schedulers.
