1. Control-click on this file link < OSX-Dell5310n.ppd > and select 'Save Link as' . Save the file in a location convenient to you where you will be able to find it again.
2. Open System Preferences under the Apple. Click on "Print & Fax".
3. Unlock the panel, if necessary, by clicking on the lock icon and entering an administrative name and password. Then click on the plus button to add a printer.

4. Click on IP in the menu bar. For protocol, select "Line Printer Daemon - LPD".
For Address, enter 'libprint3'.

5. In the "Queue" field, enter "Portland_bw":

6. Enter a name for the printer in the "Name" field.
Any name can be used, but be sure to supply a name that is different than any previously installed printers.

7. Click in the "Print Using" field to show the drop-down menu. (The default choice may read "Generic Postscript Driver".) Select "Other..." and navigate to the location where the configuration file in Step 1 was saved. Open that file.


8. Press "Add"
9. Configure the settings for the printer, using the following options, and click "Continue":
