Requesting materials from other libraries

Most materials held in the Eugene campus branches of the UO Library System can be delivered to UO students, faculty, and staff, in Portland. In order to ensure timely service, please verify information in the UO catalog and use the appropriate form, as described below.

UO Library materials

Articles

If the article you need was cited in a periodical index linked from the UO Libraries webpage (such as Avery) request directly by using the FindText link:
FindText.

If the article is not cited in an online index, you may request by searching for the journal in FindText directly from the Libraries homepage, or by using the general ILL article request form. For fastest service using either form:

  • Make sure that either "Docdel" or "UO Portland" is listed in the comments field,
  • Include the journal's ISSN number if known, and
  • List your email address in the email field.

Books and other circulating materials

To request circulating materials, locate the desired item in the library catalog and select the "Request Item/Place Hold" button. For delivery to the Portland checkout desk, choose the appropriate pickup location. You may login to your Library Account to see if requests you place are in transit or ready to pickup.

Materials from other institutions

Summit (Orbis Cascade Alliance)

The Orbis Cascade Alliance is a consortium of academic libraries in Oregon and Washington. In addition to being able to check out materials in person at any Alliance Library, materials can be requested online through the Summit catalog. Materials may be delivered to the UO Portland Library or the Orbis Cascade library of your choosing.

Interlibrary Loan

Items that are not currently owned by UO or Orbis-Cascade Libraries can sometimes be obtained through Interlibrary Loan.
