orbislogo Orbis Courier Service RFP
Last update: February 2, 2005

Below find links to the various parts of the Orbis Library Consortium's August 2000 RFP issued for courier service.  The Orbis Courier Service will potentially provide daily service to 60 dropsites in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.  Each dropsite may serve a number of "forwarding sites."  As a result, a total of 250 libraries may be served through this contract.

Orbis has no central funds to support this or any other consortium service.  As a result, we have structured this project as a membership service and collect fees on an annual basis from participating dropsites.  Each dropsite develops its own agreements concerning the allocation of fees and transportation of materials among forwarding sites.
