Blues Discography

This is a discography (list of recordings) of some of the Knight Library's Douglass Room blues collection. The recordings do not circulate outside the Library, except to the faculty and Graduate Teaching Fellows of the University of Oregon. The exceptions to this policy are found in our Circulating CD Collection, with their cases displayed at the entrance to the Douglass Room. Any call number that includes the location, Doug. Circ., is available for borrowing by anybody for one week. A paper version of the Blues Discography is available at the Douglass Room Listening Desk

Other resources that University of Oregon faculty, staff and students have to listen to the music of the blues are the Library's subscriptions to the Smithsonian Global Sound and the Database of Recorded American Music, available from the UO Library's web site under Videos & Music. If you scroll down to the bottom of that page, you can connect up to these resources under Audio Resources Online

Because of copyright considerations, we do not honor requests for copies of these materials.

For those of you who want biographical information about the performers, we have added the official web sites (when found) for each performer whose name is in blue. To get to those web sites, just click on the blue name.

For a guide to doing research in the Blues at the UO Knight Library, see http://libweb.uoregon.edu/music/researchguides/bluesguide.html
