The Aerial Photography Collection at the University of Oregon Library is the largest repository of vertical aerial prints in the state of Oregon. Currently, the MAP Collection is home to some 550,000 aerial photographs of Oregon, stretching as far back as the 1930s. The collection has been cultivated over the years through a variety of sources. Most of the holdings were acquired from government agencies. Other photography has been acquired from private persons. As such, the MAP Library's photograph collection is utilized by a number of different state, federal, and private organizations; in addition to the use by academic institutions. The library strives to keep the most complete and accessible collection of aerial photography prints of the state of Oregon.

The Aerial Photography Collection is a closed stack collection. Only trained library staff can research and retrieve aerial photography. For this reason the Library System offers an Aerial Photography Research Service to locate and compile historic aerial photography. This service is available at no cost to OUS students and faculty. Non-OUS faculty, students and staff patrons will be charged a research fee.

The Map and Aerial Photography Collection is located in the Document Center on the first floor of the Knight Library.
