In keeping with our dedication to improving and expanding our services, we our proud to announce our new service name, MAPRS (Map and Aerial Photography Aerial Research Service). We will be expanding our service to include research and duplication of our non-aerial cartographic materials such as Oregon topographic maps and Oregon nautical charts. More detailed information about this will be made available via the web site.
On July 1, 2009 MAPRS will be implementing a new billing system and additional services. We will be increasing its rates so that we can ensure the collection remains viable and usable into the future. The costs associated with operating the research service, such as health insurance, wage for our student assistants, maintaining the collection and upgrading equipment have increased, but we have not adjusted our rates accordingly since 2003. Please note that the last day we will bill research jobs under the old rates system will be June 26, 2009. During the transition to the new billing system, we expect there may be a temporary slowdown in issuing invoices and filling orders for those jobs submitted after June 26, 2009 and up through the 2nd week in July. Please plan accordingly and make requests as far in advance as possible.
Please note: we ask that the new request form be used for all new requests as of July 1.
OUS patrons receive research free of charge. This does not include duplication services. Self service scanning is available for OUS members.
