The University of Oregon Libraries' mission is to serve the research and curriculum needs of the university. The Libraries also serve as a valuable resource to local communities and the state. Community groups who wish to use the Libraries' resources should make prior arrangements with Libraries staff. Instructional orientations and general tours are available to help groups make the best use of the facilities, collections, and services.

| Who | Instruction is generally provided to students in 9th to 12th grades and to adult groups. Group size should be limited to 20 participants; larger classes should be divided into smaller groups. Due to space limitations, smaller groups may be necessary in branch libraries. |
| What | Basic instruction in using appropriate information resources will be provided. Depending on the size and needs of the group, some limitations on equipment and resources may be necessary. More extensive instruction may be available for certain collections (e.g., Special Collections & University Archives). |

| How | Contact the location you are interested in at least one week prior to your preferred date. |
| Who | General tours are available for any group interested in the design and activities of a large university library. Groups up to 20 members can be accommodated in the Knight Library; branch libraries may require smaller groups. |
| What | General tours describe the services, collections, and physical facilities. No instruction in using the library's information resources is provided. |
