The UO Libraries’ has an easy way for you to connect with UO librarians. The Ask a Librarian web page at http://libweb.uoregon.edu/general/gethelp.html uses chat software that allows users to simply begin asking questions without downloading or installing any chat software.
All you need to do is begin typing in the chat box on the Ask a Librarian page and hit enter to send a private message directly to a reference librarian at the service desk in Knight Library. The service is available during hours that the reference desk is staffed.
The Science Library also has a reference chat tool, available at
http://libweb.uoregon.edu/scilib/contact.html that is available to anyone for science-specific questions when the science reference desk is staffed.
Chats are also available with AIM, MSN and Yahoo instant messaging to uoreference. In addition, the UO Libraries reference desk is available by email, phone, or in-person. Check out the Ask a Librarian web page at
http://libweb.uoregon.edu/general/gethelp.html. After hours reference service is available here
http://www.oregonlibraries.net/ at the Oregon Libraries Network.
