In addition to the resources at the Law School Library, the Knight Library has significant research tools for your work in J385. Below are resources to consider:
- Useful for background are the World Press Encyclopedia, second edition (REF KNIGHT PN 4728 .Q53 2003; 2 volumes) and the Encyclopedia of International Media and Communications (REF KNIGHT P87.5 .E532 2003; 4 volumes). The latter, for instance, in volume 3, has a chapter on "Libel and Slander," written by David Heller and Sandra Baron, of the Media Law Resource Center.
- Books on First Amendment issues are located primarily on the Third Floor, in the KF 4770 call number area. The majority of books on libel are under the subject heading: "Libel and slander." (See especially "Libel and slander - United States.") Most of these books are in the Law Library.
- The
Law Category in OneSearch can be used to search for articles from journals or law reviews on particular cases or legal concepts.
- The Constitution of the United States: Analysis and Interpretation, located in the Documents Center Reference Area, call number DOCS REF KF 4527 .U58, lists key Supreme Court decisions for each clause of the Constitution.
- Volumes of the U.S. Code, the official laws of the United States, are located in the Document Center Reference Area, Row 7B.
- Volumes of the latest Oregon Revised Statutes, the official laws of the State of Oregon, are located in the Document Center Reference Area, Row 7B.
- Volumes of the U.S. Reports, the opinions of the Supreme Court, are shelved in the lower level of the Documents Center, Row 31.
- Volumes of the FCC Record, published by the Federal Communications Commission, are shelved in the lower level of the Documents Center, Row 2. Call number: CC 1.12/3:
