J202 Enriching Your Topic

The UO Libraries have several resources that can help you find background information on a public policy question. These sources give overviews and provide suggested readings.

  • CQ Researcher is a weekly publication that provides 20-page overviews of the issues in the news. Once at the site, click on Index to browse possible topics.
  • Editorials on File (REF KNIGHT D839 .E3) reproduces editorials from leading U.S. newspapers on current issues of strong interest.
  • The Reference Shelf, published five times a year, provides book-length collections of essays on contemporary issues. In the UO Library Catalog, do a title search and enter: reference shelf. Jump to the end of the over 340 entries for recent volumes.

If you have further questions on a particular topic, you can always ask the Reference Librarians!
