EndNote: Exporting/Importing from EBSCO

Direct Export: EBSCO


NOTE: You must be searching the database on the same computer that has EndNote.

  • Mark records by clicking on the folder icon that appears at end of citation
  • When finished click on Folder has ... items icon
  • Choose Save to Disk. (the Print and E-mail option will not save the data in the correct format)
  • Select Bibliographic manager tab
  • Select Citations in Direct Export format
  • Select Save
  • EndNote will open and ask for the library

Saving records for importing: EBSCO

Note: With this method you will be saving records from a database in text format and then importing them into EndNote. You do not need to search and save items from the database on the same computer that has EndNote program.
  • Mark records by clicking on the folder icon that appears at end of citation
  • When finish selecting citations click on Folder has ... items icon
  • Choose Save to Disk. (the Print and E-mail option will not save the data in the correct format.)
  • Select Bibliographic manager tab.
  • Select Citations in a format that can be uploaded to bibliographic management software.
  • Select Save
  • The citations will be displayed
  • Use your browser's File, and Save As features. Be certain that file is saved in text (*.txt) format
  • When importing to EndNote be sure to use appropriate filter
