Oregon Newspapers Index

Notes on the Oregonian
Index database (1851-1987)

This database contains 845,000+ records. Article index records still to be added are from bound volume 1925, which has been partially completed in alphabetical order by subject. The final record was entered August 8, 2007, at 11:45 A.M. by Robert Hulshof-Schmidt, Oregon State Library. Proofing, authority control and elimination of duplicate records will continue throughout the 2007-2008 academic year. See table below for provenance of records, which derive from a variety of formats and indexing standards, or, for more detail, the data entry Inventory.
