GPO Proposal to Replace the FDLP Inspection Program

The opportunity to provide comments on GPO's proposal for replacing the FDLP Inspection Program is now open on the FDLP Desktop web site.

Basically, GPO is working to develop a program that would assess a depository libraries' ability to provide access to federal materials, rather than concentrating on rules for processing material. Assessments would look at the availability of information on library web sites about the FDLP program and look for any barriers to public access to both tangible and electronic federal resources.

Please take the time to review the proposal and provide comments through FDLP Desktop web page. This program will impact all federal depositories, so it is important that GPO receives library input on this important proposal!

Feel free to direct any questions you may have about the proposal to Arlene Weible, Regional Federal Depository Coordinator, Oregon State Library, arlene.weible@state.or.us or 503-378-5020.
