Mission Statement

The Documents Interest Group of Oregon (DIGOR), is dedicated to making government documents of all kinds more easily accessible and more useful to library staff and patrons. DIGOR promotes information sharing among people involved with, or interested in, government documents by sponsoring educational programs and giving documents folks an opportunity to meet and interact.

DIGOR's Next Business Meeting

The next DIGOR meeting will be held on Thursday April 17, 2008 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the 2008 Joint Conference of the Oregon and Washington Library Associations, to be held in Vancouver, Washington. Meeting location is Spruce Room, Hilton Hotel.

November 6, 2007: Proposal to Replace the FDLP Inspection Program

The opportunity to provide comments on GPO's proposal for replacing the FDLP Inspection Program is now open on the FDLP Desktop web site.
Basically, GPO is working to develop a program that would assess a depository libraries' ability to provide access to federal materials, rather than concentrating on rules for processing material. Assessments would look at the availability of information on library web sites about the FDLP program and look for any barriers to public access to both tangible and electronic federal resources. There was wonderfully warm fall weather in the Washington D.C. area during the Fall Federal Depository Library Conference held in Arlington VA this year. Despite the temptation to get out and sightsee, I managed to attend a number of interesting sessions at the conference.
