How can I find
books?
Book not on the shelf? Ask for help at the
checkout/information desks.
How can I find
articles?
A
database is a searchable list of citations and/or complete articles.
- Use the "Articles\"
tab on the library's homepage to search several databases at once
- Search a specific
database in your subject area
- Use FindText to locate complete articles
- Articles may be online, in print, or on microfilm
Where do I get
course reserves?
- Use the "Course Reserves\" tab on
the UO Library homepage to find print and electronic materials reserved by
your instructors for your classes
- Get the password for electronic
course reserves from your instructor, any library service desk, or call 346-1818
- Note the location and call number
of the items you want
- Reserve
materials are available in each of the UO libraries
How can I get help with research?
Save time – ask a

locating materials, using databases, and searching the Web

How can I use
the library from off-campus?

rooms in the libraries?
Are there

- Dozens
of computers are available throughout the libraries for student use
- Laptops can be checked out for up to four hours
from the office on the 1st floor of Knight Library
- Wireless
is available throughout the libraries. For help getting set up: http://micro.uoregon.edu/wireless/
How can I print
or make photocopies?
- The
libraries have many black-and-white and color printers
- Photocopiers
are available throughout the buildings
- To
print and make copies you will need "Campus Cash\"-add money to your card
at the Checkout/Information Desk.
- Copies are $.08
per side; computer printouts are $.08 per page
Are there
services for people with disabilities?
- The library
offers access to adaptive technology and special services. Students must
be referred to the Adaptive Technology Adviser by the Counselor for
Students with Disabilities. For more information, talk with James Bailey
at (541) 346-1076.
