North American newspapers cover Old Believers in articles too numerous to list.
Most of the articles are of local interest only. What follows is a list of the local
and national papers which have historically printed articles on Old Believers, along
with information about availability and indexing.
NATIONAL NEWSPAPERS
New York Times Wall Street Journal
Both the times and the WSJ publish occasional human interest articles about the Oregon/Alaska group of
Old Believers. Excellent electronic indexes are available for both in public and academic libraries.
"Old Believers" constitutes the most helpful search term.
LOCAL NEWSPAPERS -- ALASKA
Homer News Homer Tribune
These are the local newspapers for the corner of Alaska which hosts several Old Believer villages.
LOCAL NEWSPAPERS -- ALBERTA
Faiview Post Northern Review
Available at the Fairview Public Library. Library holdings include back issues
from 1950 to the present. Much of the run is also on microfilm. Paper copies
of the Post's predecessor, the Northern Review are available for 1923, 1930
and 1933, with some gaps. These titles constitute the major local press covering the
Hines Creek/Fairview group of popovtsy Old Believers. No index available.
(note: Provincial Archives of Alberta has the Fairview Post 1940-1982; Northern Review 1929-1933).
          Grande Prairie Herald
Indexed microfilm of issues from 1913-1997 available at the Grande Praire Public Library.
The index includes references to a "Greek" or "Old Greek Orthodox" church -- whether this is the Hines Creek
Old Believer church or a Metropolia/Patriarchal church in nearby Spirit River is unclear.(2003)

These are, respectively, the local and the regional newspapers for the corner of Minnesota which hosts several Old Believer families.
LOCAL NEWSPAPERS -- OREGON

The Oregonian is the major daily paper in Oregon. It occasionally prints articles about the Oregon
Old Believers. Larger libraries (Salem Public, University of Oregon, etc.) have complete holdings,
usually on microfilm. As of 2006, a major indexing project is underway at the University of Oregon;
