The Timberline Lodge conference facility offers a relaxed atmosphere for librarians, vendors and publishers to discuss issues of concern. Plan to come and listen to one another in this small conference (enrollment is limited to 85) with its rustic resort setting and the finest of people and minds. Presenters are encouraged to engage the audience and there will be plenty of opportunities for informal discussion outside the scheduled program. Plan to enjoy the good food, the beautiful mountain scenery, snow sports and swimming, evening movies, and favorite readings. Explore the Timberline Lodge web site for a sense of the historic character of the lodge. We have reserved the entire suite of rooms for the Institute.
See the program for last year's schedule. Our keynote speaker for 2010 is still to be determined.
Our packet pick-up, opening reception, and dinner will be held on Saturday afternoon and evening. The keynote address will be Sunday morning, followed by program sessions all day Sunday and Monday. We will hold a wrap-up discussion on Tuesday morning.
October: the Call for Papers is announced.
December 30: program proposals due.
Late January: the preliminary program becomes available.
Regular registration is open from late January until mid April. If there is still space available, late registration will continue until May 1, two weeks before the institute.
The final program will become available approximately one month before the Institute.
Transportation information is listed on the F.A.Q. Car-pool ride matches from the Portland International Airport (PDX) will be arranged two to three weeks before the Institute.
Registration for the 2010 Institute is not yet open. Final costs have not been determined yet. Your Institute registration will cover all conference expenses including opening reception, refreshments at meeting breaks, and all meals from dinner Saturday through breakfast Tuesday. We will try to keep the costs as close to last year's as possible ($425).
Timberline Lodge continues to extend excellent rates to us. We do not yet have the final rates for 2010, but last year they were $100 to $160 per night plus room tax for one or two occupants. You will need to send in your room reservation with your registration.
