Cultural Explorations: Suggested Books & Films

(this page is no longer updated)

Native American
Canadian

One of the easiest and most pleasurable ways to learn about another culture or society is to read fiction or watch films that feature locations, people and historical periods other than what we may be familiar with in our everyday lives. This site will be dedicated to pulling together some of those titles for your reading and viewing pleasure.

If an item is owned by the UO Libraries, a call number is indicated. Check the Catalog for availability before making a trip into the Stacks or to the Video Collection. You might also want to consult the Music Services Collection for specific sound recordings not listed here.

If the Library does not own a specific item that you are interested in, contact one of the Library's Subject Specialists.

Please stay tuned for lots of exciting information! If you would like to suggest titles to be included and/or you are a staff member who would like to write a brief review to post, please feel free to drop me (see below) a line!
