Digital Collection Groups

Digital Collection Development Board

Charge:  To evaluate, recommend, and prioritize proposals for new digital collections for the University of Oregon Libraries. To develop tools to aid in digital collection development activities.

Meetings will be held monthly.  An annual report will be given to Library Administration.

Membership:

  • 1 representative from (member term: 2 year, will start with aim to stagger)

    • Subject Specialists / Law Library
    • Architecture & Allied Arts
    • At large
  • Electronic Records Archivist
  • Image Services Coordinator

Digital Practitioners

Charge: To evaluate, recommend, and stay abreast of equipment and technology development and trends for digitization for all library digitization activities. Perform annual evaluation of current digitization equipment and related software (e.g. Silverfast, OmniPage, Soundtrack Pro) and make recommendations to the Digital Systems Group.

Meetings to be held quarterly with open attendance. An annual report will be given to Library Administration.

  • Media Services Streaming Representative

Digital Systems

Charge: To evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies, extensions, and systems for the support of the University of Oregon Libraries' Digital Collections. Perform annual evaluation of current systems and software used for Digital Collections.

Meetings will be held on an as needed or requested basis with one annual review meeting.   Invitations to interested parties (non-voting) for feature/system request meetings will be sent out. An annual report will be given to Library Administration.

Policy Decisions
Ad hoc task forces will be created for necessary policy creation and consultation by the Digital Collections Coordinator. Recommendations will be forwarded to Library Administration.
