- The Find It Fast guide will help you become familiar with Knight Library locations and services.
The Libraries offer several ways for you to learn about a variety of resources
and services on your own, including tutorials,
"how-to" guides, guides to finding
specific types of resources, and guides to research
in subject areas.
Some of the resources listed below require the free
Acrobat
Reader in order to view them; these are marked by [pdf] following
the name of the guide.
Tutorials
- Research Assignment Calculator
- Create a personalized research and writing plan for each project,
with links to resources to help you through the process. Then sign
up for email reminders, to help you keep on track.
- TILT
- Developed for the University of Texas system, these three modules
focus on selecting information sources, searching, and evaluating.
The tutorials do not focus on specific tools (catalogs, indexes,
etc.) but rather on concepts. It is available for anyone to use.
"How-To" Guides
These guides offer basic information on using the libraries' research
tools and resources.
