Saving Your Work

While you have a laptop checked out, you may save files to its hard drive. Before returning the laptop, you will need to save your files to another digital storage device. If this is not done prior to the return of the laptop, your files may be lost. Students are responsible for providing a USB drive on which to save their work.

Warning: If you do not save and delete files prior to returning the laptop to the library, others may be able to view your files and work. The UO Libraries is not responsible for any loss of or damage to a user's files as a consequence of use of the laptop. The UO Libraries is not responsible for files left on the laptop once it is returned by the user. Save your files to the storage device of your choice.

  • You may use the DVD writer in the laptop.
  • You may use a USB hard drive, which can be plugged into the USB port.
  • You may transfer your files to your campus computing account using installed software.
