Laptop Loan Service

Fines and Liabilities

Like all library materials, laptops are checked out to students for specific periods of time. Laptops returned late will accrue fines and possibly additional fees if the laptop or peripherals are not returned in working order.

Students who check out a laptop are required to sign a statement accepting full liability for the laptop and its peripherals.

• Overdue laptops accrue overdue fines of $20.00 per hour or part thereof.
• Borrowers are fully responsible for any loss or damage to the laptop or peripherals.
• Full replacement costs for each piece, including the laptop itself, may be charged for loss or damage, plus hourly late fines and a service fee.
• You may be charged if you tamper with the security seals on the laptop.
• Any charges related to the late return, loss or damage of a laptop or its peripherals will be applied to your UO account within a few days of the loan.

Students who return laptops past the due time and date may not be allowed to check out laptops in the future.
