The primary responsibility of the Acquisitions Department is to select and acquire library materials needed to support the educational and research mission of the University of Oregon. Working with the Libraries' 25 subject specialists, Acquisitions facilitates the selection and acquisition of material for UO faculty and students. Acquisitions administers the Libraries' materials budget and handles donations of gifts in kind. We order, receive, and process library material in any format from around the world. Acquisitions adheres to generally accepted accounting principles and we measure and evaluate vendor performance and sources of supply. We also maintain the highest ethical standards in our business transactions. A part of the Collections and Access Division, this library unit consists of 13 professional and career classified FTE.
