Workshops

CET offers several workshop series, plus provides referrals to UO faculty and GTFs interested in getting more structured training in educational technology.

Workshops on Demand

Workshops on Demand offer customized workshops for the University of Oregon community to meet technology training needs of its students, faculty, and staff, with a focus on academic and curricular topics. These workshops replace the open enrollment workshops previously offered by the IT Curriculum.

Check out our program goals and training topics and use our form to request a workshop.

Other CET Events

In addition to Worshops on Demand, CET sponsors a range of other workshops and symposia for UO instructors. A few of our recent offerings include:

Symposium on Computers for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, April 27, 2007.

Summer workshops for faculty: During summer 2005, 2006, and 2007, CET co-taught with Teaching Effectiveness Program the 4-week intensive Course Redesign for Hybrid Learning. CET also routinely assists with other workshops in the Academic Affairs faculty support programs. See the program description for details.

Pacific Northwest Blackboard Users Group. The annual users group meeting was held at the University of Oregon on Friday, Oct 19, 2007.

Technology Workshops Sponsored by Other UO Departments

Many UO departments offer workshops with a focus on educational technology. See individual department websites for more details.

Of particular interest are the workshops offered by the Teaching Effectiveness Program. For example, during fall 2007 TEP offered workshops on "Second Life in Higher Education" and "ePortfolios".

For the past several years, the Provost's Office has also sponsored an extensive and intensive summer workshop series for faculty. See "Faculty Support Programs for Teaching Through Technology."
