Scholars' Bank

Resource Page for STUDENTS

This page provides information for students who would like to see their work in Scholars' Bank. Student work in Scholars' Bank includes dissertations, theses, Master's capstone projects and other class projects. The submission process for theses and dissertations is different from the process for projects.

Submission of Dissertations and Theses

Theses and dissertations appearing in Scholars' Bank must be digitized, with the authors' permission, from the paper version approved by the UO Graduate School.**

Beginning with Fall Term 2007, students submitting dissertations and theses to the Graduate School will be asked to fill out a form stating whether or not they would like their work to be submitted to Scholars' Bank. For theses and dissertations being added to Scholars' Bank, UO Libraries staff will digitize the approved print version before binding and cataloging it.

Students who received their degrees prior to Fall 2007 and who would like to submit their dissertation or thesis to Scholars' Bank should fill out the online permission form. Library staff will retrieve and digitize the approved print version housed in the UO Libraries collection.

**Note: The Scholars' Bank self-submitted theses and dissertations collection, which includes unofficial copies of dissertations submitted electronically by the authors, has been closed. Official print copies of titles in this collection are being scanned by UO Libraries staff, after which the items are being moved to the "Theses and Dissertations (Official)" collection.

Submission of class projects to Scholars' Bank

Student submission of class projects to Scholars' Bank must be sanctioned by an academic department or program of the University of Oregon.

  • If you would like to submit material to an existing student collection, please contact the appropriate faculty member, or the administrative office of the school or program, for information about requirements, style guidelines and the approval process.
  • Creation of new student collections requires departmental approval and either a faculty liaison or departmental administrative support person. If you would like to see a new student collection added to Scholars' Bank, you will need to speak with faculty in the appropriate department or program about their interest in starting such a collection. Interested faculty should contact the Scholars' Bank Coordinator.

Contact the Scholars' Bank Coordinator for more information.
