Borrowing from the UO Libraries and Beyond


Who can borrow

  • UO students, faculty and staff. Established Library accounts will remain active for one term past enrollment. Faculty also may ask to have their accounts activated two terms prior to the start of their appointment.
  • Oregon residents 16 years and older (See: Oregon Card Program)
  • Students, faculty, and staff enrolled in schools with which we have reciprocial lending agreements

Borrowing from the UO Libraries

Course reserves

Instructors place syllabi, books, lecture notes, journal articles, class assignments, sample tests, videos, audio cassettes, and other relevant information to support classroom instruction. More>>

Borrowing materials from other libraries

UO students, faculty, and staff may request books, videos, and microforms from libraries throughout the world. Articles from journals not owned by the UO can also be requested to be sent to your desktop computer. We also have reciprocal borrowing agreements with several libraries which allow on site borrowing for students, faculty, and staff who are visiting those libraries. More>>

Requesting delivery to branch libraries, desktop computers, and homes

UO students, faculty, and staff, can request items to be delivered to the library of their choice for pickup. Faculty may request electronic articles from journals owned by the UO Libraries be sent to their desktops. More>>

Distance Education students may request that UO library materials be sent to their homes, and that journal articles be sent to their desktops. More>>
