General Job Sources in Oregon:
Suggestions for Finding Librarian,
Library Support Staff, or
Other Employment Opportunities
in Eugene and Oregon

The University of Oregon Libraries generally conduct national recruitments for librarian positions. In those instances, ads will appear in The Chronicle of Higher Education and/or American Libraries. Increasingly, these ads will appear in the online version on the Internet. You might want to check out the following possibilities. Needless to say, having a computer with an Internet connection will definitely make your search easier and quicker.

Other Resources:

UO Library Support Staff positions and Manager positions are often advertised in the local newspaper, The Register-Guard (http://www.registerguard.com/) on Sundays.

Occasionally, positions will be advertised in the Portland Oregonian (http://www.oregonian.com/mainindex.html).

If you are or will be a new resident of Oregon, I strongly urge you to join the Oregon Library Association (http://olaweb.org/), where you will receive regular OLA Hotline updates, which include employment opportunities all over the state for all types of positions. In addition, you might want to subscribe to LIBS-OR (libs-or@webhost.osl.state.or.us) for the latest "hot off the press.\"
