There are a variety of sources for digital images of art and architecture. The Art and Architecture Images section of UO's digital collections provides access to images that have been created or licensed by the Library primarily for instructional uses. The Library also subscribes to ARTstor, a database that provides access to over 500,000 with sophisticated tools for viewing and presentation. Grove Art Online, the electronic version of the Grove Dictionary of Art, also provides access to a growing number of digital images.
Listed below are online image sources which are not provided or licensed by the University of Oregon. While links are checked regularly, some of the information concerning the rapidly changing world of online image sources may be dated.
An excellent overview of art on the web is "Looking for Good Art: Web Resources and Image Databases, Parts I, II, and III", in Searcher: The Magazine for Database Professionals, Volume 12, September, October & November/December 2004
