Research assistance

Portland Library staff are available to help with research assistance and referrals. You may also direct research questions to librarians in the Eugene branches of the UO Libraries. Librarians in the Architecture and Arts Library are available for assistance Monday through Friday, call (541)346-3637 and ask for a research librarian. UO Libraries

The UO Libraries website contains links to a wide variety of resources including:

• the UO library catalog and other catalogs to find books, videos, etc,
• periodical indexes and databases (such as Avery) to find articles and more,
• and research guides for architecture,  journalism/media, and other topics.

Other Portland area libraries

Of particular note among Portland libraries are the nearby Portland State University Library and Central Library of the Multnomah County Library system. UO students, faculty, and staff have borrowing privileges at PSU through the Orbis Cascade reciprocal agreement. Library cards for Multnomah County Library are free to residents of Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington or Hood River counties in Oregon, Clark, Skamania and Klickitat counites in Washington, and the cities of Woodland or Camas in Washington.
