AAA Library
Spaces and Equipment

The Architecture & Allied Arts Library is located in the south wing of Lawrence Hall. All services are ADA-accessible. If you want assistance for any disability related reason, ask at the checkout desk. Access to adaptive technology is also available in many locations around campus.

Computers and catalog access

The Architecture & Allied Arts Library has terminals and workstations for a variety of different uses.

  • Most workstations provide web access to the full extent of the UO Library's online system, including journal indexes and other online resources in addition to the UO Library catalog.
  • The library also has 6 computers (both MS Windows and Mac OS) which permit other uses in addition to those listed above. Two of these computers have flatbed scanners (1 US Letter/A4 size, and 1 Tabloid/A3) ; use for scanning library materials has priority. All have word processing software, and provide email and other internet access for UO students, staff and faculty. These machines also provide for use of library CD-ROMS and software.

Priority use of library computers is for accessing information related to research and coursework.

Printing

Printing and downloading to disk are available on all computers. Printing costs $0.08 per sheet, only 8.5x11 inch paper is available in the black and white printer. Color printing is also available for $0.50 per print (8.5x11) or $1.00 (11x17). For large scale output you may print to the nearby A&AA output room.

Printing in the Library requires a Campus Cash card. You may also print to AAA Library printers from your laptop with wireless network access; to set up your computer, read the instructions for laptop printing.

Copiers

The photocopy room is located on the main floor. Both black & white and color self-service copying is available. All photocopiers take Campus Cash cards, and most will accept coins or $1.00 bills. Prices are as follows:

  • black & white, $.08 (card) or $.10 (cash)
  • Color copies, $1.00

Users of Library copiers, scanners, and computers hold responsibility for ensuring that their use of these resources conforms to copyright law (Title 17 US Code).

Campus Cash

Campus Cash uses the UOCard (Photo ID) as a debit card for printing and copying. All UO students, faculty, and staff have a pre-established Campus Cash account. Most accounts are already activated. To begin using it, you will only need to make a deposit into your account.

You can add money to your account in a number of places on campus, including the Hearth Cafe on the second floor of Lawrence Hall. UO students, faculty, and staff can also add funds to their Campus Cash account via Duckweb; look for the "QuickPay Campus Cash" option.

Campus Cash accounts are also available for non-UO patrons. A card costs $5 and includes a pre-established balance of $3.50. These cards are available at the Library Checkout and Information desk. For security, we recommend registering these cards and account numbers with the UO Card office. The magnetic stripe on the UO Libraries Oregon Card for public borrowers also works with the Campus Cash debit program.
